This new publication provides comprehensive guidance on the installation of our mineral wool and airtightness and moisture control solutions specifically in Pitched Roof applications. Isover Ireland has emphasised the importance of properly designed, integrated roofing solutions that deliver insulation, airtightness and moisture protection — rather than merely tick the boxes to comply with building regulations.
Isover Ireland Marketing Manager Valerie Dent says that ISOVER offers one of the safest options for insulating pitched roofs both in new build and renovation. This system features Isover Metac, a high performance slab-on-a-roll mineral wool insulation which, when used with the company’s Vario airtightness and moisture control system, is designed to offer “one of the safest and best performing thermal systems on the market,”

This is one of the best possible options available on the market to protect timber roof structures. Metac insulation can be fully filled in rafters even in previously non-breathable roof structures. It is also the safer option when combined with our Vario airtightness system, as it is a fully breathable solution with moisture protection for the building fabric. In addition to using Metac, ISOVER recommends using Vario Xtra Safe membrane is an intelligent membrane for greater moisture safety, offering a higher variability for optimum protection from moisture. With an Sd value ranging from 0.3 to 20m, the membrane can be simply and quickly fitted by just one installer, thanks to its innovative fleece material, which adheres to the Xtra fix tape.
The most exceptional characteristic of Vario Xtra Safe, in pitched and flat roof applications, is it allows installers to fully fill the insulation space between rafters, with no need for an air gap. This is particularly beneficial in cases where it can be challenging to provide ventilation in non-breathable pitched or flat roofs.
